Tarantula Guest House - Calvinia

I stayed in a charming holiday home with mountain and garden views, free WiFi, and a private entrance. Loved the terrace and BBQ area. A haven in the Karoo!

Oh, how I missed having an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a personal butler at my beck and call. So disappointing!

Excellent self catering chalet with lovely fixtures and well thought out design. Great bathroom. Fabulous under cover braai with fantastic views. Warm with AC and electric blankets. Friendly welcome and incredible facilities. Squeaky clean, fantastic smell. Comfy bed, massive shower, efficient aircon, all DSTV channels available. Wonderful patio with pleasant view. Well equipped and clean. Helpful owner who booked a restaurant and assisted with minor car problem. Amazing views, heaven-sent air-conditioning. Friendly and helpful host. Clean and well maintained facilities. Exceptional view from stoep. Great sunrise. Wi-Fi works well.

The room at Tarantula Guest House was super cozy, with a private bathroom and a refreshing shower that had all the free toiletries you need. As a light sleeper, I really appreciated the tranquility and peace that this room offered. It made me feel right at home.

The only thing that I personally liked less was the limited availability of parking spaces. But hey, that's just my subjective opinion, and others might still find it absolutely fine.

Personally, I found the bathroom a bit small. But hey, that's just my preference.

With the availability of free WiFi, I was able to stay connected during my entire stay at this charming guest house. The owner went above and beyond to ensure a smooth experience, just like a spider expertly weaving its web to catch all the signals and keep them strong. The owner was as attentive as a spider waiting patiently for its prey, always ready to assist with any technical difficulties.

We stayed at Tarantula Guest House for 2 nights and it was absolutely fantastic. The private cottage was quiet, clean, and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen and a huge sheltered terrace. The view of the open Karoo and mountains was breathtaking. The location was perfect, within walking distance of supermarkets, shops, and great restaurants. The hosts, Hendrina and Frans, were lovely, friendly, and extremely helpful. Highly recommended!
